Praise is a Gift
We must first recognize that praise is a powerful weapon of warfare in the spirit realm. 2 Corinthians 10:4 tells us that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but they are mighty through God to the pulling down of stronghold. Setting up strongholds in our lives is one way the devil can attack us. Some examples of strongholds are anger, lust, lying, etc. The Bibles says, our praise can pull it down.
The weapons God uses to defeat the enemy seems silly and crazy, but they yield powerful results in the in the realm of the spirit. The clapping of the hands, dancing, singing, shouting for joy, rejoicing are all weapons that do powerful damage in the spirit realm just as weapons like bombs, grenades, guns, and knives would do in natural wars. The way children of God fight back to attacks of the mind, sickness, losses, disappointments, fear, divorce, loneliness, pain, sorrow is to praise God. The enemy hates praise, and it sends them running.
I recall an encounter I had some years ago where I was depressed and felt weighed down while I was at my home. I had enough sense to know that I could pray the heaviness away, so I prayed. Nothing happened. Then I heard the Lord say one word DANCE. Immediately I obeyed. I went to my kitchen, pulled the chairs out of the way, and without music, I began to dance. What happened next was shocking and life changing. As soon as I started dancing, I felt a living being lifted off my shoulders and shot into the heavens with lightning speed. Instantly, I felt lighthearted and happy again. Understandably so, I was shocked to know that a living being from the spirit realm was sitting on me. It was a powerful, unforgettable moment to know that my praise in dance sent it careening into oblivion.
I realized from that moment that my praise was powerful. Not just my praise, but yours also. The word of God already told us how to fight and to win. Are you being tormented?
